18xx Mapper Applet
Welcome to Iain Adams' early release applet for 18xx mapping.
This copy has loaded the 1856 tile and map definitions. Instructions:
- Click on a hex to see its reference number and tile/orientation in the status window
- Shift-click to select a hex for upgrade mode
- In upgrade mode, click to cycle through valid tiles, Alt-click to rotate through legal
orientations of that tile, Shift-click to exit upgrade mode, with current tile/rotation set.
- Control-click to rotate the tile in the hex pointed to.
Because the grain of the grid is not in the usual direction, a small transformation was
necessary to make this map fit my code. The map has been rotated so that West is at
the top of the page. While the Row letters match the map on the back of the rulebook, the
column numbers I use are (23-rulebook#). You may blame this on the same people who retained
consistent tile numbering with previous games, but didn't care about the positioning of the
reference number. The tile orientations given are with North at the top of the screen, and
reference number locations are as per my 1856 physical tileset.
